Mahmood Ahmadi-Afzadi - Research Affiliate PDF Print E-mail
profileMahmood Ahmadi-Afzadi is a research affiliate with the Simons Centre, contributing as the chief interviewer of the “Viewpoints on Iran” interview project and the primary translator of the Farsi news content in the “Iran Nuclear Crisis” periodic newsletter.

He has worked as a senior journalist in Iranian radio and television since 1992, reporting on regional security and political developments and interviewing numerous prominent figures, including Nelson Mandela, Yasser Arafat, Benazir Bhutto and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. In 2006-7 he served as the Dean of Iran’s News School, the country’s only specialized journalism university. At UBC, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in the Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program under Dr. Huntley’s supervision, focusing his research on Middle East regional nuclear developments and linking international relations theory with investigative journalism studies.
